Not everyone can Teach but All can learn

This is not a status comment nor aimed at anyone in particular but just a share of something I wrote  which may prove to be of interest to those who like to read these kind of things !
===============
Random thought triggered by a  beautiful post from Adriana (Andi) Fiveash on LinkdIn about how we should have confidence that there is a  higher purpose to our lives
Another way of saying that nicely is that there is a " method to our madness " 😊
Many of the posts I see evidence that quite a few have found it and are sharing their profound knowledge freely with others but there are others who want to do something but may feel depressed by their inability and to them I wish to point out the following examples which I give myself
. If you are broken - be like the pieces of coloured glass in a child's kaleidoscope . His light shining through will give great designs to the world
. Turn your tear filled eyes to His light and the world will get rainbow !
. Be a stained glass window in a Cathedral
Most of all be your natural self as that was the piece of the jig saw you were meant to be .
Inspire more than motivate as people like seeing examples and not being told to be one
In the end Murphy's Law will apply  😊 and not everyone can be a teacher there is need also for students !

Laughing Together - 2

Repeating it doesnt take away anything from the vallue of this one reproduced as received

No dictionary has ever been able to define the difference between #complete" and #finished". However, in a linguistic conference, held in London England, and attended by some of the best linguistics in the world, Samsundar Balgobin, a Guyanese was the clever winner.

His response was:

When you marry the right woman, you are "complete". If you marry the wrong woman, you are "finished". And, when the right one catches you with the wrong one, you are "completely finished".

His answer received a five minute standing ovation.

Stirring of the Soul

Often , I keep returning to this poem of mine ,  which explains so much about sudden rapport with seeming strangers and the development of emotions

========
There are times when
You meet someone new
But get the feeling
This one I always knew

Maybe an earlier lifetime
In a past forgotten age
We shared glorious moments
Now dates in a history page

It doesn’t take you long
To know the other deep
As it were you have awoken
From a long refreshing sleep

There are no formal silences
As in new friends conversations
How can there be formality
It’s only a continuation

Friendship a poem

#Friendship  repeating just because ......
wish to dedicate it to my friend !
=====
Life was a barren desert
Till along came the Friend
That Oasis of cooling waters
Where every thirst could end

The One who listened
Shared all that was felt
In gratitude to whom
The very being knelt

When a friend leaves
And sails upon the Tide
There is an emptiness
Where only memories reside

Thoughts that haunt
Spectres of shared dreams
Reverberating in hollowness
Once the source of streams

Such is the mirage of life
That imagined future dear
Which fades into oblivion
As far as it is near

Funny Stories - 1

πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
Ok here are two  jokes  to help you relax . They just surfaced - crawled out of the woodwork !
==========
In the last Great War the Allies were searching for an effort from the common people . Some of the common people were resisting the effort.
One such worthy was called for a medical assessment to be enlisted . In the eye department :
Dr. : please read the last line
Worthy : which line ?
Dr.: on that chart
W: chart ? Which chart ?
D: ON THAT WALL!
W: Wall ? Er ..
He was promptly declared blind and rejected
To celebrate his victory the gentleman went into a nearby cinema hall to watch a film .
In the interval , when the lights came on , he discovered that in the seat next to his ,was the eye doctor .
With great presence of mind our Man asked the Doctor
" Excuse me , but does this bus go to London "
======%=
In one of his books Spike Milligan tells a story of how in certain parts of Europe during the war it used to be so cold that soldiers were reluctant to exit their sleeping bags at night .
However the cold would make them urgently want to take a leak .
A method was devised by which they got some relief in that cut lengths of inner tubes of cycles were ' strategetically ' attached and run out .
This method was considered foolproof until some mischief makers went around at night knotting the tubes which had a pinching effect and caused a reverse flow much to the discomfort of the occupants of the bags .
Sounds funny now but am sure the victims of the prank didn't see the humour of it !

Thought on seeking Career Guidance

Some thoughts on Seeking Career Guidance
1. Guidance can be valuable when starting out ( whats my best #flight #plan ? )
2. Sometimes its needed to make a mid-course correction ( how can i improve my #trajectory ? How can i create #more #happiness ?)
In my opinion , we should also dwell on the following :
Often  an individual wants to consult others to get some pre - conceived aim validated !
Somewhere there is an internal uncertainty but their heart is so set on it that they fear that the person consulted would negate the chosen aim .
In this sense seeking guidance is an act of bravery . πŸ˜€
We should then seek Career Guidance if only to confirm and validate what we have decided already !

Retrospective Wisdom

Have you noticed the number of people who say " Oh Be Careful !" AFTER you have tripped on something ?
Everyone is a wise person after the event !
We do it all the time with our teams and colleagues and should be better equipped to warn them of pitfalls in advance 😊
Here's a funny little story to illustrate the point . I read this in a compilation of after-dinner speeches titled  " Please Pass the Port " . ( I am writing from memory and the telling may not be as good as the original )

In a small town there were several religious denominations and the Vicar , The Bishop and the Rabbi gathered  on Sunday  and went out on the lake in a boat  for a serene afternoon on the waters to ease the tensions caused by their morning sermons
As they had boarded , the Bishop suddenly remembered that he had forgotten the sandwiches he was to bring . He stepped out of the boat and walked ashore over the waters and came back with them . The Protestant remembered the coffee and did the same !
The  Rabbi was observing this with a jaw  that was dropping further by the minute . Not to let his Faith down he remembered a forgotten flask of water, stepped out of the boat and promptly sank , ungraciously , in the water !😊
The Bishop turned to the Vicar and said
" Oh dear ! We should have told him where the stepping stones are ! "

(Note : The denominations are used at random and it could have been any one of them who sank )

Happy Living

#Happy #Living
Stay Happy ! Stay Slim ! Stay Light !
Wishing each one Happy Living !

Sense of Humor is an essential weapon
Some of the wisest critics were
πŸ˜€Humourists πŸ˜€
Dont mean to pontificate but just penning some thoughts

In the Readers Digest there is a section ( or used to be - haven't seen a copy in some time ) titled very perceptively
LAUGHTER THE BEST MEDICINE
Amongst the serious articles on life stories and other such miscellany there was this group of funny stories and jokes which took the sting out of Reality !
A ray of sunshine on a cloudy day !
Think of it Tragic Greek Drama had sections of comic relief , the Circus always has  a Joker and every court had a Court Jester !
Therefore , it can be said that , in the drama and circus of Life we need to lighten up and laugh !
Personally , my greatest pleasure comes from making people laugh and smile and I believe it's not exclusive to me and most others feel the same. It's a different matter that there are some who may not always respond but that is a challenge not a failure.
A friend Suchi Deshpande in Singapore successfully  conducts Laughter Sessions ( have shared some of her posts ) and I have heard of Laughter  Clubs so this might be a good avenue to explore .
Laugh at the small things in life and try not to be serious all the time ( life is too short for that )  and (you may not share this feeling ) if I have to die may as well die laughing !

Most importantly remember
Suppressed Laughter rolls back and Inflates you at the Hips !

Branding

Just a light hearted look at Logos , Brands etc
Hope you read it with SOH

In the very early days when humans  realised that they all looked alike ( except for some differences in gender which got covered up over time) , they hit a roadblock of not being able to differentiate between friends , allies and foes !

So they came up with the  idea of having unique distinct tribal face and body  marks which were etched into the skin soon after birth .

Design and Branding experts of the time would have had a field day , I am sure , creating unique insignia which would represent the Mission and Vision statements of the tribe .

It also needed to be distinct lest brothers got killed in the flush of battle just because of an unnoticed dot or line .

The best part of course was that  plagiarism was not possible as  the mark had to be inscribed at young age and so was a very secure process.
So IPR laws were not needed.

In the modern day Corporate Jungle do Logos and Brand Names replace these concepts ?

In the olden days battles ceased at sundown as in the dark you could not identify the enemy and ran the risk of killing your brothers !
In the modern day the battle rages 24×7 and logos are all lit up !

Angels Exist.- story from the past

And I say Angels Exist !
Here is the story for the Day !
========
In my hurry ( good excuse ) on the first day of a new project I forgot my umbrella at home . ( First Idiotic move )
While leaving work it was drizzling lightly but I decided to walk ( 2nd Idiotic move )
The distance to home is too short to hail a cab but is not a hop step and jump away either . Convinced of being able to walk between raindrops I decided to walk . Don't know the meaning of patience ( another part of idiotic bull headedness. )
Any way , there I was walking between the raindrops , much to amusement of others but increasingly  conscious of becoming seriously wet .
Observation : A bald head offers no resistance to water rolling under your collar !
Halfway I heard a voice from behind saying " Hey Sir " - voice being female of course I stopped ! It was this young lady offering me place under her umbrella ( see photo )
I accepted and we walked along and those who know me would know we talked
She had come from Janakpur and was looking for Shanti Nagar which was down the road ( honestly it is !)
and I found out she was training to be a nurse but had low IELTS score. Promptly I advised her of what to do . At a point , her friend discovered they had to go elsewhere and I was back in the rain .
It was also a place I had to cross the road and lost in thought I missed seeing a fast approaching truck .( 3rd Idiotic move
Close to being run over I felt an angelic hand on my arm pulling me out of Harms way !
Another young lady with umbrella ! ( Didn't agree to a photo ) who , it turned out was going towards a hostel near where I stay . So I was saved from not only rain but serious injury as well !!
Do you see how we are #protected ?
And that people do go out of their way to help others #voluntarily !

Parental Guidance

Thoughts on importance of  Career Guidance for parents

We don't mean guiding the parents on careers πŸ˜€ (though that is still  possible for those with smaller children)
Our address is to those with children on the verge of taking important decisions on the cross roads of their academic journeys
They are not only the child's Primary Advisors ( along with Teachers) they are also  stakeholders and investors in their childs future ( even if altruistically ) .
They can be deeply guided by knowledge of
What is their child  objectively suited for ?
What are the careers and prospects the future holds ?
What is the layout ( financial and emotional )  required for the coming years which would suit the budget and get the highest returns .
Parents can be the best guides if they are well informed .
Would love to see your views in the comments section

Dreaming it up !

" Don't put a limit on anything. The more you dream the farther you get "
Wow ! When I read this some images flashed instantaneously in my mind all about reaching out  - s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g  to our farthest limits of effort and endurance

On a beach every wave that comes in seems to be reaching as far inland as possible - has to beat a retreat - BUT - comes back with renewed vigour

In a forest each tree seems to be stretching its arms as far as it can in the sky and yet staying erect and rooted

The peaks of the highest mountains are stretching so much, holding their heads up above the clouds in silent communion  with the sky

Yes let's dream - it makes all things possible !

Riddle of Life

Life , I tell you , is such a Riddle 😀
Over the years I have gone  #forwards and #backwards , #upwards  and #downwards , sideways , in tail spins , making some friends and losing many , plumetted to #depths after rising to #heights , in short every which way possible .
Almost like a free wheeling Ferris wheel and you know what ?

At the end of it I find that I was just going around the same block !

You know what my one Ear said to the other , a day ago ( eye opener and show stopper )

" Hey man , we live on the same block !"

So I think the best thing would be to sit down and wait for the mind to get clarity .
What has to be Will be 😊😊
.

Big Bang Theory

Last night , with an  unnecessarily  powerful bang  it was proved to me yet again , if proof was needed , that there are angels or someone ( by whatever name you call ) that is always protecting us.
It's a given to be taken for granted !
" O yea of little  faith !! "
What happened was I was seated on a plastic chair known as a garden chair - only that it was on our terrace and not in a garden .
There I was having a pleasant phone conversation with a friend when suddenly , without any provocation, the chair gave way under me.

It was not as if I was having an animated conversation or wriggling around or putting too much weight on it or troubling it with any loud talk . I was just having an ordinary conversation on phone. The content of my talk also was not something to cause extreme behaviour in the chair.
Any way without so much of even a warning it just folded up.and gave up it's legs !
You can imagine my surprise at the support to my seat was suddenly not there . One moment I was sitting smartly and the next - whap ! - I was in the most ungainly pose , looking at the ceiling ,  my head bouncing off the parapet wall.
I can now imagine how surprised a King must feel when unceremoniously his throne is removed from under him. I am sure he would retain a regal posture which  mine most certainly was not !
Well apart from a hard knock to my head ( thick skull ) and the embarrassment of adopting a strange posture there was no other collateral damage.
So  the lessons  I learned
1. There is an Angel standing by
2. I have a thick skull
3. I can still get off the ground by myself when splayed out on my back
The event only shows that you never know when God will decide to knock you on the head - BE PREPARED !
It's not Always that the worst happens
😊😊😊😊😊
