Verse in appreciation of our four legged bretheren

I met this guy on the street 

He was looking at my feet 

I asked " What ails you brother ? "

His reply was in a language another 

Bow ! Wow ! ( Barking )

Translation : 

Bow i offer to the Creator 

Wow is for the breath of Nature 

Which makes me find all that I need 

People who voluntarily do me feed ! 

Then he seemed to ask : 

What  ails  YOU  Brother ? 

Your step is heavy , plodding along 

Your brow is creased ,face is long 

Here ' s a  paw , get de-stressed

Trust that , like me , You are Blessed 

So much said and so much learned 

Exchange of energy without a word 

Brought me to the realisation 

It's not speech but the  right vibration

The Circular Path

The Universe operates with immaculate precision to carry out it's devious designs which we have been programmed to believe as inevitable and ' for the highest good ' 

Do we have a choice not to believe this ?

 

One thing is true- that the Universe is mostly predictable because it implicitly follows the laid down rules and even what seem miracles are explained logically in retrospect . For example the manner  of any death is only a creative way for the timely exit of a Soul .

 Whose Timing ? " God only knows " 

God does not cheat or do one - upmanship though I dare say He / She could at a snap of His/Her fingers . 

Herein lies the object lesson of doing what you expect others to do . 

So what do we do to tread carefully through the minefield called life ? 

Learn to read the tracks and spoor like the natural habitants of the Jungle , I guess, and attain the objective 

But then that  has already been set for our finding ...

Gaining Emotional Poise -Remember the Hourglass – Extracts from a sermon by Dr James G Gilkey

“Most of us think of ourselves as standing wearily and helplessly at the centre of a circle bristling with ,#tasks, ,#burdens, #problems, #annoyances and #responsibilities  are rushing in upon us .At every moment we have a dozen different things to do , a dozen problems to solve , a dozen strains to endure . We see ourselves as #overdriven, #overburdened, #overtired.

This is a common mental picture – and it is totally false !No one of us , however crowded his life , has such an existence . 

What is the true picture of life? Imagine that there is an hourglass on your desk. Connecting the bowl on top with the bowl at the bottom is a tube so thin that only one grain of sand can pass through it at a time .

That is the true picture of your life even on a super busy day. The crowded hours come to you always one moment at a time. That is the only way that they can come. The day may bring many tasks , many problems, strains , but invariably they come in single file 

You want to gain Emotional Poise ? Remember the hourglass, the grains of sand dropping one by one ……….. “

Dance of Seven Veils

The #Catalyst
This is totally my view and represents  a thought that came to me .
In different traditions and mythologies , separated from each other , have two different stories about
The Dance of the Seven Veils ,  both having approximately similar endings .
One by Draupadi for the Karavs and the other by Salome for King Herod .
I have been wondering as to the reason why they appear .
In my view , sooner or later - knowingly or unknowingly , all Humans search for the  Divinity or The Divine .
To do this , they have to pass through Seven Layers that mask their goal from them .
1.The #5 senses of Sight , Hearing , Smell , Touch and Taste
2. The Sixth Sense or instinct
It is when the Seventh is reached that God manifests . In the case of Draupadi it is when 6 drapings were removed that The Divine Manifested as Lord Krishna .
In the case of Salome she achieved her goal of attracting King Herod .
This is what i think is the lesson we get about meditation and overcoming the senses to achieve that which is Paramount .
Omnipresent, Omnipotent , Omniscient 

Joy of Simple Things

HAPPY DAYS TO ALL !

Obviously The Creator wanted His subjects to have great rejoicing and festivities  with lots of #Colours and #Music and #Dance ! 

So He gave them awareness of:

*Vermilion , Indigo , Turmeric , Henna etc for colour 

*The seven notes of music 

*The knowledge to use metals to shape delightful sounding bells 

*The ability to portray heartfelt emotions through choreographed dance 

*Celestial bodies as inspiring and guiding spirits

And most of all #Seasons and #Nature to evoke all this ...

When He has so thoughtfully provided all these things it is , I think , our Duty to use them and live a life of Joy and Enjoyment !

Rise above your seriousness , cares and egos

Life is a Miracle ?

If  you agree , our entire existence qualifies as a Miracle but it does not suit our Ego to accept this easily .

I think of this World as we know it as a Gigantic Laser Show very intricately designed and executed 

One of the most endearing facts about the Universe (or God )  is that it operates with immaculate precision . The Planets and Galaxies and , I dare say , ourĺ lives ,have charted movements and trajectories , in  several planes of existence , with split second timing .

For this , the structure is built on certain Laws of Physics , Chemistry and Biology which are being unfolded to mankind with diplomatic skill of making them believe that they are the pioneers and discoverers .

To my mind , the most remarkable thing is that even though it is possible for the Creator to by pass some laws He seems to be governed by severe discipline and is always compelled to remain within the frame-work of laid down rules.

No deviation . What He wants us to follow remains for Him too.

Except when it suits His design to provide a Miracle  ........but Even that has to be explained in retrospect !

spark of joy in the middle of nowhere

Each one is born with the Spark of the Creator within us. When we let that spark become a Flame we can be filled with the Light of Illumination ! 

Standed In the middle of seeming nowhere......

During the course of the years I have travelled a lot by road in India and  in the West African Bush at a time when facilities were meagre in the  '80s and  90's. It was the period  before mobile telephony and location aids .

The travel was on motorcycle , car , pick up vans , the back of a truck and sometimes on foot.

On several occasions it happened that I was stranded  in the middle of the night on a dark stretch of what seemed to be nowhere ! Only the sounds of the night and the stillness of the Dark were companions and sometimes the moon and stars if the weather was such and it was the time of the month when they were on duty .

It is incredible how intense ones hearing and sight becomes in such circumstances . 

Then suddenly a pin prick of light appears on the horizon .

Your hope rises that you may possibly get some help . That tiny dot seems to get bigger and you start praying that it's not an illusion . 

As it grows bigger your hope for possible help increases and the joyous relief  you  experience is unbounded as it moves closer with its own accompanying sounds of motor and men .

The joy cannot be described ! 

Cut to present - 

Sometimes in life also there are events that cause such unbridled joy !

The event could be a meeting , a remark , a message , a chat - 

something that acts as a source of light in an otherwise dark and silent world ! 

Today has been just such a day for me !
