#The #Catalyst 

Very often I meet gloomy, depressed and frustrated  people whose main grudge seems to be their existing job . they seem to be always looking for that something which glimmers just out of reach, something that is -er – different ! In their craving for that X – factor, that ‘cant- put- my- finger on it ‘something 

Being a non-interfering sort of bloke, I just listen but am sorely tempted to quote to them Carlyle 

“Get your happiness out of your work or you will never know real happiness. Blessed is the man who has found his work (true calling) “

or the following beautiful poem from Henry Van Dyke which is so relevant to anyone at any level of work , industry or enterprise and is , for me, truly inspirational .

“ Let me but do my work from day to day,

    In field or forest, at the desk or loom,

    In roaring market-place or tranquil room;

Let me but find it in my heart to say,

When vagrant wishes beckon me astray,

  "This is my work; my blessing, not my doom;

  "Of all who live, I am the one by whom

Lessons from Nature

Oh to flow on this journey of life drawing great example from the River

Taking birth at its source it moves on  its journey which is pre – destined to merge with the Vast Ocean where it will become one with the whole.

Its entire life is run between the banks that have been cut out while making its path which give it the boundaries of discipline. Sometimes it does overflow its sides but is soon brought back to reality of the course and then continues its journey

There are boulders and obstacles encountered which it either cuts through, jumps over or simply flows out from under. This is its way.

All this is done while merrily humming a song or a tune. It is happy and partakes freely of its waters to anyone who wishes to draw from them or sail on it or live in it carrying them on its back without any hesitation or complaint

It also, when called upon, help generate power and energy , which will be used for the luxury and facilitation of other’s lives .

Influence - guide to an opinion

" Palace intrigue " and " Friends at Court " are two terms which have withstood the test of time  and their phenomena has existed uniformly across cultures and civilisations as evidenced by history 

Which just shows that man has evolved but his nature and social mores have not changed .

In today's world I believe the tradition is carried forward by ' centres of influence ' , Public Relations specialists and Political Agents .

It also exists , I think , in the Corporate World , in the World of Sports and possibly in every sphere of activity .

What makes #genuine #Ability curry favours ? 

Is it the intense competition that calls for resorting to pushing up using another shoulder ? 

The question hangs in the air .....
